Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the prepared green beans. Boil for 2-3 Minutes until bright in colour but not fully cooked.
Removed from boiling water and place in a bowl with ice. Leave them sit until the beans have cooled off.
In a large frying pan on medium heat melt the butter and add the garlic. Saute the garlic until fragrant (2 mins) add in the beans and saute until beans are tender and heated through. about another 2-4 minutes.
