    Equipment

    • Slow Cooker

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 tbsp canola oil
    • 1 onion diced
    • 1 pound lean ground beef
    • 1 Cup Mushrooms sliced
    • 1 clove garlic minced
    • 2½ tbsp Chili Powder
    • 2 tbsp ground cumin
    • 1 tbsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
    • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
    • 1½ tsp salt or more to taste
    • ½ tsp ground black pepper
    • 4 tbsp tomato paste
    • 1½ Beef Broth
    • 1 can Diced Tomatoes (1 can is 15 oz)
    • 1 can Kidney Beans or Black Beans Drain and Rinsed. (1 can is 16 oz)
    • 1 can tomato sauce (1 can is 8 oz)
    • 1 cup frozen corn

    Optional Toppings

    • Green Onion
    • Grated Cheddar Cheese
    • Sour Cream
    • Fresh Diced Tomatoes
    • Home Toasted Tortilla Chips

    Instructions
     

    • Brown the Meat
    • Add in the oil, onion mushroom and garlic.
    • Add in the Spices (Chili Powder, Ground Cumin, Sugar, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Cayenne Powder, Salt and Pepper)
    • Add In Tomato Paste, Tomato Sauce, Beef Broth, Tomatoes, Beans and Corn.
    • Transfer to a slow cooker and cook for 6 Hours on Low.

      A classic staple, I use less cumin than called for or sometimes omit, just preference.
